Feeding a family, especially a large family, can be time-consuming. This meal prep for a busy Mom shows that meal prep doesn’t have to be hard!
Since we have stopped buying convenience snacks for our cupboards, I really need to be on top of my meal preparations. Eating foods that are ingredients themselves instead of buying foods made of way too many ingredients is really helping our bodies feel better. The downside is that sometimes this way of eating can be more time-consuming.
See our blog about transitioning to minimalist food.
Removing the quick and easy snacks has taken a bit of preparation, but it is definitely worth it.
Hopefully, within the next couple of months, I will be feeling established in this new routine. Once I feel comfortable with this style of eating, I want to venture into the world of homemade granola bars and even crackers! I have been binge watching YouTube videos about making your own crackers and I believe I can do it!

Meal prep for a busy mom can be a lifesaver.
In less than 45 minutes, while making lunch, I was able to prepare all sorts of food for dinners and snacks for the coming days.
For snacks I prepared:
- carrots
- celery
- bell peppers
- honeydew melon
- broccoli
For the meals I prepared:
- brussels sprouts
- carrots and celery for soup
- greens for green smoothies
- celery to go in tuna salad
- romaine lettuce for salads
While preparing all of this I also made homemade french fries and a green juice/smoothie!
Want to see how I prepared all of this? I filmed it while parenting 4 boys so if I had just concentrated on meal prep I probably could have gotten it done in even less time!

Thanks for the tips. I’m going to have to try putting things in jars to see if they last longer. – Lori
