As parents and as human beings, we need a community for support. Creating an unschool community in your life can benefit you in so many ways.

Feeling love and a sense of belonging is an important part of the human experience. As humans, we need to feel like we are loved. We need a community around us to support us at times of need and at times of triumph.

When we begin our journey into parenthood, it can be overwhelming. There are always questions to ask and information to gather. Finding a trusted source for that information is so important.

There are so many different styles of parenting. Being able to find a community of parents who share your beliefs when it comes to how you want to raise your children can be hard. Luckily, in this online world, physical location no longer prevents us from being able to connect with these individuals.

Some people are lucky enough to live in a location that has others who share similar lifestyles and beliefs. Others of us need to look to an online community for this support.

My Unschool Community

There are a plethora of communities for homeschooling.

From Facebook groups to local coops, a lot of the time unschoolers get lumped into homeschooling communities because we are a smaller subsection within a larger group.

I wanted to create a group of like-minded families – ones who shared my ideals for parenting, education, and general living. Because of this, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I wanted to create a group that reflected my beliefs.
