One of my many goals for 2019 is to get outside more. Join my #365HourChallenge and get more vitamin nature into your life! Complete with FREE bullet journal inspired printable!
Being outside and in nature has always been my happy place. I love camping, hiking, and just relaxing outside with a good book. There are so many opportunities out in nature than many of us do not take the time to enjoy.
Being outside is good for your body, mind, and soul. My anxiety and stress melt away when I am able to escape into nature. This is why I wanted to do this challenge.
The #365HourChallenge started off as a way I could hold myself accountable for getting outside more in 2019. I shared a few pictures on Instagram and the feedback was overwhelming. So many people loved the concept and wanted to implement it into their own lives.
Because of this, I am formally inviting you to join my #365HourChallenge.
#365HourChallenge
This challenge is very simple. Get outside and be mindful of the about the amount of time you spend outside. Embrace nature in all its glory.
The goal for the year is to spend 365 hours outside. This equates to one hour per day, but you do not need to commit to an hour each day.
Living in Canada, it can get quite cold. On -40 degree days, I do not want to spend an hour outside. But come the spring, summer, and fall, I can easily spend hours on a single day. My goal is to have it average out and add up to 365 hours for the entire year.
I added a colour code for my bullet journal spread. This will allow me to see the different temperatures and what temperatures we typically enjoy to be outside in. My chart ranges from -10 or below up to 30+ degrees. In the printable, I left the temperature range empty so you can fill it in with ranges that suit your climate.
Make sure to sign up for our mailing list to get your own free printable to help you track your hours outside!
This printable is inspired by my bullet journal spread. If you want to see other bullet journal spreads I have put together, check out my January Plan With Me!

My Favourite Outdoor Winter Activities
Getting outdoors in the winter is hard.
Finding the motivation to bundle up myself, let alone 4 tiny humans, is always a daunting thought. Because of this, I tend to focus on getting outside when I do not need as much gear. Building snow forts and snowmen were fun, but now I prefer to have a fire and roast marshmallows or walk around the pond.
We also love taking advantage of warm days caused by chinooks and getting out to the local playgrounds to really burn off some energy. One thing I have recently started doing, since my children are a lot more independent at the park now, is to bring my ereader. I sit on a bench or on the ground, if it is not too wet, and enjoy reading my book. I love the feeling the wind blowing over my skin or listening to the birds chirping as I read about faraway lands or how to be more mindful of my surroundings.
Recently I have been trying to embrace the early morning walk with my dog, Cosmo.
I am not one to wake up early and enjoy a sunrise, mainly because I am not a morning person. But in the winter, the sun does not rise until 8:30 in the morning. With the sun rising later, it is so easy to get up and be out the door to catch the sunrise with Cosmo.
The sky where we live, in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, is like nowhere else I have been. The colours are so vibrant. Even with a clear blue sky, it is the bluest blue I have ever seen. Some days, I wish I had a better camera than just my iPhone. It takes a decent picture but the colours are not nearly as vibrant as they are in real life.
I took this photo the other week and just stood there in awe at the beauty that was the sky, and within moments it was gone.
